About Nigel Artingstall
Nigel is entirely self-taught and from a very young age, he showed an interest in wildlife; spending much of his time studying the fauna and flora around his home town of Bolton; where he lives with his wife and family.
Nigel is widely considered to be one of Britain’s foremost wildlife artists and his work is owned by some of the World’s most famous people.
He is only represented in the most prestigious art galleries and generously donates the publishing rights for his work to both the RSPB and RSPCA to help raise funds for their good-works. Beccy Speight, Chief Executive of the RSPB and Chris Sherwood, Chief Executive of the RSPCA both describe Nigel’s work as “stunning”.
Having tried a number of different mediums, Nigel eventually decided that water-based Gouache gave him the versatility and fine-detail that he was looking for. His backgrounds are almost entirely painted with an airbrush. This, together with the fine detail of the subject and foreground, painted with fine sable, creates an almost three-dimensional, photo realism effect, which are treasured by collectors and investors all over the World.
If you have a question, Nigel would be delighted to hear from you.
